Amari Avery Makes History as the 9th Black Woman to Earn an LPGA Tour Card

We’re excited to share some incredible news in the world of golf: 22-year-old Amari Avery has officially earned her LPGA Tour card for the 2027 season, becoming just the ninth Black woman in history to do so.
Quick History: What Is the LPGA Tour?
The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) was founded in 1950 and is the world’s premier women’s professional golf organization. The LPGA Tour represents the highest level of women’s professional golf, with players competing around the world.
Avery earned her way onto the Tour through the Epson Tour, the LPGA’s official qualifying tour, often called the “Road to the LPGA.” She finished the 2026 season 8th in the Race for the Card, securing LPGA Tour membership for 2027.
Who Is Amari Avery?
Avery is from Riverside, California, played collegiate golf at the University of Southern California (USC) and was featured as a young golfer in the 2013 documentary The Short Game. She was also a member of the winning 2022 U.S. Curtis Cup team.
Her talent has also attracted the attention of major global brands. Avery has partnerships with brands including Nike, TaylorMade Golf, and Lexus USA, further demonstrating the growing visibility and influence she is building both on and off the golf course.
In 2026, Avery earned her first professional victory at the IOA Championship, finished the Epson Tour season 8th in the Race for the Card, and officially secured her LPGA Tour membership for 2027.
Why This Matters
Avery becoming the ninth Black woman to earn an LPGA Tour card is bigger than one golfer’s accomplishment. It represents another step forward for representation in a sport where Black women have historically been significantly underrepresented.
And with major brands like Nike, TaylorMade, and Lexus USA supporting her journey, her growing platform has the potential to introduce her, and the game of golf, to even more people.
For the women and young girls watching her, especially those just discovering golf, Amari is another reminder that there is a place for us in this sport.
At Deals On The Green, that makes her story especially exciting to share.
Let’s continue sharing her story, following her journey, and cheering her on as she begins her LPGA Tour career in 2027.
Go Amari, and congratulations! ⛳️💚🏆
